Three, three three. OK, four.

Clockwise from the top: Ye'miser Beingudai Wot, Awaze Tibs and Ye'tikil Gomen.
I'm in great spirits tonight! I had a super successful and productive day in the kitchen and tonight I'm heading out with a full belly to see Kathleen Hannah and her new band The Julie Ruin. Julie Ruin is one of my favorite albums of all time, and Le Tigre is one of my favorite bands of all time, and Kathleen Hannah is one of my favorite singers of all time, so you get the picture. Plus the show is free eee ee!

In culinary news, here's what popped out of the fuzzy pumper playdoh kitchen today: Ye'tikil Gomen (smothered cabbage and tomato), Awaze Tibs (tempeh baked in awaze sauce and stir fried with rosemary and onion) and Ye'miser Beingudai Wot (red lentils in a spicy gravy with 'shrooms).

The interloper in this picture are the Ye'bakela Allecha (mild bean stew) from my last post.
The injera in these photos is not gluten-free, 'cuz my friend Michelle picked it up on her way here for taste testing, but I'm super lucky nonetheless. You see, Dazee works across the street from the Ethiopian cart Emame and the proprietress sells xgfx injera by the piece! It couldn't be more perfect.

  1. FREE SHOW? I love the Julie Ruin too!!! I'm a big BK/LT fan and you are so so lucky! They sold out here really quickly. Sad.
This food would make me happy though.

  4. I just want to dig my fingers into that Gomen! mmmmmmm

  5. I can't-wait-can't-wait for you r cookbook. If you need a tester please please let me and my belly know. xox

  6. I second Lauren. I'd be happy to try any of your recipes. I'm sad about the Papa Tofu being sold out.

  7. best and most innovative food photo I've seen today!!

  8. I am so jealous about this show! I feel the same way about Kathleen Hannah and Le Tigre. And Bikini Kill!
