|Sambusas and Awaze.|
Unlike my experience with most xgfx doughs, the dough encasing these sambusas is really easy to work with and is ultra forgiving. I've made these about 5 times now, and I like them more and more each time they come out of the oven. They're also quick, which is why I keep making them over and over again, when I have tons of other recipes that need attention.
Awaze is a spicy, tangy pepper sauce, which I've only been able to try in two restaurants before. Both were very different from each other. I like this style best. It's based off a smooth sauce that comes with an order of sambusa from Skyline Cafe, near parents' in Northern VA. It's basically berbere powder mixed with booze, lime juice and seasoning. Picture an Ethiopian style Korean BBQ sauce, if you must. Also, Skyline is sorta more of a bar/restaurant than a sweet cafe--be prepared for loud TV watching if you check it out.
