King Kake Nation Take II.


Still warm.
See how hard I'm working on xgfxism?  I'm trying to get a recipe down that's consistent!  This one came out a little different than the one from the other day, so that means I have to try again.  With more cake.  Oh damn.

Cinnamon apple cashew creme King Cake.
I filled this with different innards today, to see how well the dough would hold up to a meatier filling.  This one's stuffed with a cashew cinnamon creme and cinnamon apples and topped with an apple glaze!  I can feel it cruisin' my blood stream, as I type.

  2. Although I can't wait to see this recipe, I really appreciate your attention to detail and consistency! Nothing is worse than making something and having it turn out completely wrong, and not knowing why (e.g., recipe source did not actually test it themselves before releasing it into the wild). Plus, if I make it once and get expected results, then I am off the recipe hook and can make mods to my heart's desire, with only myself to blame for wonky results. :)

    1. Thanks for this. Yea, there's no way I could post a xgfx yeasted dough without testing it, and good thing I did because these two recipes fluxed a lot over the week. I think I measured the water wrong yesterday when I made this, so uh...more king cake! But it's really good, I can't wait to share. I'm gonna try another one tomorrow...

  4. This king kake is ENORMOUS (or you have unusually tiny feet). I wish we were there 'cause poor Dave gets no king cake now that he's gluten-free
