| Just to let you know, this is a crafty post, but it also involves black beans and salad, so there's no need for worry. |
I'm getting ready to cast on for a new sweater. I'm super excited about it, 'cuz I'm doing a little KAL with my besty-bub from DC. If you're on Ravelry you can see the sweater page, we're working on Levenwick by Gudrun Johnston, and YES, we will rock our match-y friend sweaters.

| On Ravelry, you can name all your projects, so this one was called, "Before the Kitchen was Done, But After it Got Painted." The yarn was a present I gifted myself after I painted the kitchen ceiling white. Painting a ceiling is worse than knitting sleeves. |
The last sweater I finished was way back in April. The pattern was Before Dark by Veera Välimäki. It came out really lovely, although I may
never knit another sweater with plant fibers again--soOOo stretchy--they
lose all shape within the first hour of wear. I always forget this too, because knitting with bamboo sounds like such an awesome idea, there must be some sort of bamboo pheromone that keeps me coming back.
I was bummed the sweater got all stretchy, because the fiber I used was luscious, and the sweater itself was a little boring to knit. Especially the sleeves, knitting sleeves is pure torture.

Wow, it's beautiful! What an achievement! I'm fairly new to knitting and crochet and so have been limited to scarves, legwarmers and lots of little animals for my nephews and niece..I need to step up level clearly.
ReplyDeletethanks! keep it up and you'll get wherever you wanna go!

Lovely--and I love the name, the yarn and the unlikely-but-fabu Pyrex collection background. Cioci Regina taught me to knit and crochet when I was 7. After a few-year hiatus, I'm back in yarn land again--so this post is inspiring. But Samba still insists on pouncing on all my projects.
ReplyDeleteunlikely pyrex collection, never!
Deletewhat're you working on dynise?

I've made that dressing and I completely agree!!
ReplyDeletethat sweater is so beautiful! I didn't really realize that you were such a fancy and accomplished knitter! Also, I haven't ever made that creamy tomato dressing!! Why not???? It sounds like I should get right on that! :)
ReplyDeletethanks amey! you should make the dressing. you probably haven't cuz it has loads of oil in it, and you watch that stuff, but it's so good! i used a lot of hemp, so i don't worry about it.
