Congrats to Birrrd, who won her own copy of Papa Tofu Loves Ethiopian Food. I'm super excited to send this off to you, please send me your contact info, and I shall!
In other news, I had a pretty decent fire in the kitchen today. Woot.

| You had a nice run, kettle. |
Please install smoke alarms near your kitchens and check to make sure yours have working batteries, 'cuz mine saved the house. I put the kettle on with very little water in it and completely forgot about it for over an hour. It was a complete melted-stinky-plastic fire-y mess.
And...baking soda folks! It works great for kitchen fires and it's cheap! Tell your kids, train your dogs and spread the word.

Yikes! I'm glad you got the fire under control and didn't have much damage. So scary.
ReplyDeleteO M G. This is my first time ever giveaway present and I'm sooo excited! Thank you so much : ) I just enjoy the Portland sun and celebrate this with my housemates!
ReplyDeleteMay your kettle rest in peace.
ReplyDeletethank you Bianca!
DeleteBummer about the fire — so glad you didn't leave the house (I did that once) and were able to extinguish it before the house burned down.
ReplyDeleteKittee, I adore you.
ReplyDeletego on.
DeleteI once set a jar of sugar on fire by turning on the wrong burner and walking off for waaaay too long. Why was the sugar on the stove? I think my mom was doing Christmas baking.
ReplyDeleteGlad you and the kitchen are okay!
