Oh, I've been wanting to share this cake with you for a long time. My friend Janine baked and decorated it for her daughter's last birthday, and I'm more than a bit obsessed with it. It's the classic Fake Barbie cake, but homemade, and decorated to the hilt (just the way I adore-adore-adore). To make it, a cake was baked in three or four layers in cake pans and then more was mixed and baked in a regular metal bowl, that shared the same diameter as the pans. Then the cakes were stacked and filled, before a small hole was dig out of the middle for the little lady's legs. A bit of frosting and decoration later, and you have this masterminded feat. I am dying to make one with a fake Ken doll with frosting pasties over his ya yas. Of course, all identities and locations had to be blurred out of this photo, to protect the innocent.
