Here's my Mardi Gras costume update, sorry I'm two days late with it, but in Mardi Gras time, this post is somewhat punctual. When I costume, I usually come up with a loose idea, and then as I start to create it, I get other ideas, so it usually morphs into something a bit different. So now my costume is covered with horses and caterpillars, which is somewhat profound if you consider my history with the buggers, and the fact this is probably my last Mardi Gras as a New Orleans resident. Also, I'm making dazee an outfit that is a bit matchy-matchy, except he wants his covered in nutria and, ya' know, more caterpillars.
I'm having fun with this. Yesterday I was starving for lunch, but couldn't really be bothered to stop what I was doing to eat, especially once the glue gun heated up to the perfect temperature (only one bad burn!).
Here's Vee helping to keep one of the caterpillars warm. He's doing quite a job.
Here's the spread I'm wearing: caterpillar and green fur earwarmers, horse shirt (check the shoulders, two caterpillars sit perched up there, one on each side), skirt, legwarmers and then arm warmers with built in caterpillar infested mittens. I cut a slit through the palm of each one to make them convertible [read: able to drink MG beverages easily].
Here's a closeup of one of the dudes perched on my shoulder, this variety does not sting.
